BECs – Notes on Today’s Weather (11/26)
Building Emergency Coordinators – good afternoon. Although activities on Campus are limited in advance of the Thanksgiving holiday, I wanted to pass along the following notes from the National Weather Service-Jacksonville regarding a potential for severe weather this evening and overnight.
- The Storm Prediction Center indicates a slight chance of strong to severe thunderstorms for our area. (www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/day1otlk.html)
- Main concern is possibility of strong/damaging winds in association with a developing line of storms forecast to move through our area sometime between 7pm – 3am.
- A tornado watch is possible for this evening depending on development of storms in the eastern Gulf of Mexico. The Florida Panhandle is currently under a tornado watch.
For areas which have overnight operations, please ensure staff are aware of the potential for severe weather.
